And now for those english speaking adventurers who have lost their way onto this site. West Finland Curling Pirkanmaa reg. is a small grassroots curling club trying to grow in the middle of a fanatical hockey area near the city of Tampere. You can find us at Ylöjärvi's Ice Arena where we play / practice Sunday afternoons.Sometimes we have to suffer cancellations or changes in ice times. These will always be announced in the "News" section on the first page.
Our membership fee is 50 eur / season and is used to buy brooms and sliders. That is why you do not need your own equipment. Also, our members come and go as they please. Curling is not something to get ulcers over.
I would suggest two websites:
- www.curling.fi (english and finnish) - which is the official finnish curling organization
- www.curlingbasics.com (english and german) - which is an animated site for those who do not know what curling is and also have no imagination.

And finally... There are two groups of people in this world.
In one group are the people who are smart, but do not need to prove it; competitive but still helpful to their opponents, can be full of concentration in one moment and very relaxed in the next moment, ready to give advice and ready to take advice, try to be perfect but always tell of their mistakes. In the other words, they are very nice people to be with.
In the other group are the people who do not curl. Which group would you want to be in?
